Sheriff Tim Svenson took his oath of office on January 5, 2015. He was first hired in 1999 as a civilian to do data entry for the Yamhill County Interagency Narcotics Team (YCINT), completed his degree at WOU and entered the police academy in 2000 after he was hired as a patrol deputy. He worked primarily in Sheridan until December 2004, when he was promoted to Sergeant. Holding numerous positions, he was later promoted to Captain of the Operations Division.
